Hey Mom,
figured out the email this week. that is awesome that bro ferrell came out to the fireside. im sure that that will help the work you are doing move along.
that is awesome that seth is going to tahiti. if you could get me addresses for the departing missionaries i could write them a quick note when they are in the mtc.
this week went quite a bit better. we were able to be jericho's warriors this week for the first time in this area.
dan is doing great. he came out to Church this week for the first time. his baptism is becoming less of an if and more of a when.
we also had lana out to Church this week. i dont know how much she understood but she was there. we got her a copy of the talk that one of the speakers gave for her to read. she seemed to really enjoy the experience, especially in contrast to the Russian orthodox church. we found out that she is going back to russia tho at the end of the month. we hope to keep teaching her as much as we can and then get her to meet with missionaries in russia.
michael pa*** is doing awesome as well. we are seeing him almost every day. he is pretty stoked on the Book of Mormon. we got him and dan to help us out with putting up a fence last friday. they both volunteered. it was a good experience for them. they really bonded with the member that was with us. they should both be there at Church this Sunday.
skip keeps getting sick on us. its kind of difficult to teach her because we do service for her most everytime that we go over. if we could just teach her about the sacrament...
we now have a situation where we are teaching a mentally handicapped boy named joey. he has down syndrom but has developed to the point where bishop feels he is accountable enough to get him baptized and ordained so that he can pass the sacrament. it is kind of a touchy situation. i dont know if we will end up baptizing him or not. i am supposed to decide if i think that he is accountable tonight.
we are in the midst of exchange season. we are going on 10 exchanges this transfer. doesnt sound like alot at first but really we have a 3 week window to do them and so every other day we are on exchanges. we have only done two and i am about worn out. it is good to be with the other missionaries and have time to work with them individually. it helps when we get to see 20 of the 28 missionaries that we have now.
hope that everything is going well.
Love,
Elder Barron

Elder Barron, sounds like you're working wonderfully hard and having a variety of interesting experiences from spunky Russian women to the mentally challenged to say nothing of trying to get around to see all of your missionaries. It probably becomes something of a blur to you from one day to the next.
Congrat's on being a Jericho warrior again. That's a tremendous accomplishment. It couldn't happen to a nicer missionary. :-)
Grandma Sue and I just got back from Phoenix today. Her mother become seriously ill last weekend and actually died twice, but the doctors were able to save her life and keep her going. She has made some progress since then and is now out of intensive care, but just barely. She's in what they call "progressive" care I think. She and three other patients share one nurse in a singe room. She still has a long way to go, but we think the worse may be behind her.
We hope so. It would be good to remember her in your prayers.
Spring seems to be slowly working its way into Utah. The days seem to be getting a little warmer. And lawn is showing signs of growing green again. We're all glad for that. But General Conference is still coming, so we know there is at least one snow storm ahead of us. (It always snows for conference weekend.) What will you as missionaries be doing for conference this year?
Grandma Sue and I will be going back to North Carolina this week for a few days. Will be back next Monday. We'll give you a bit of a report when we get back. We should have a missionary opportunities while we're there. At least we'll be watching for them. We'll try to make you proud.
Take care of yourself. After all, you are my favorite missionary.
Love you.
Grandpa Ron
I'm sure your testimony has grown leaps and bounds since beginning your mission. Bearing it is the very best tool you have. It meant so much to me to know that the Elders who taught me believed so fervently. It helped me to get past some of the things I had trouble with until I had a chance to learn more.
We have been down to Arizona again as Grandma Bert has been really sick and in the hospital. We just got back today. They determined that she had ecoli poisoning which infected her kidneys and blood stream. She also had a crisis where her pulse rose to 220 and they had to shock her twice to bring her around. The doctors determined that she had a heart attack during that episode. So, it was very scary but she is doing better. It will take a long time for her to recuperate. My sister Bobbie is down there right now with my dad.
Hope you have another good week. I know you try very hard and it sounds like you are being blessed for your efforts. Love you Taylor and take care. Grandma Sue
