18th...from Ca...what's up?!?

Hey Mom,

Sounds like a fun trip. everybody is talking about the arches but i dont really know what that is... is it natural arches like in the desert or something else? cant wait to get my moab present. thats awesome about your flight change. i memorized D and C 4. there are so many scriptures in d&c about the field being white already to harvest. its interesting. way cool that you set your friend up.

so this week as usual had its ups and downs. gil dropped us in a letter last night but im not counting him out yet. laregues has really cooled off at learning about the gospel. something must be wrong in his mind but we cant figure it out. im pretty sure we only had a few sit down lessons this week. sometimes its like that here but not for a while. on the good side, megan has a baptismal date and in our lesson this week started crying when she talked about how nice members are in our church and how she wants that for her kids and her life. she still cant recognize the Spirit even though she has felt it i know. she has been praying every day and stuff. larry got rescheduled for this week so we will try to set his date. nobody else has really made significant changes i dont think. oh also im way excited that we have an investigator that is from community of Christ or rlds that we are going to teach tommorow so that will be interesting.

going to the temple was awesome. it was way cool because i was kind of upset over Gil even though im sure that he knows the church is true and is just trying to get rid of the guilt since getting sundays off is hard for him. but it was interesting because on the drive over i could just tell that the temple was close before i ever saw it. i just felt this peace and strong Spirit about a minute before we were able to see the temple. so it was really interesting going to the temple having been out in the world for much longer than my last trip. i had been feeling random feelings of longing for the temple. so it was way nice to get to go. today was also stake temple day so the session we were in was with alot of Foothill Ranch members which was way cool. its kind of weird that i know these people really well and you kind of dont. but oh well someday ill introduce you.

have a good week Mom and Em. Love you guys.

Just reading about your feelings about the temple makes me want to go right now! I too, love the peaceful feeling that going to the temple brings. I'm so glad that you had the chance to go. I'm sure so many things can be frustrating for you out there, and we'll keep you and your investigators in our prayers. Love you!

Sounds like your week didn't go quite as well. I'm so glad you had the opportunity to go to temple. I'm assuming it was the San Diego Temple? I think that temple is absolutely amazing--the way it rises up as you come around on the freeway. What you are doing there is certainly not easy but Heavenly Father knows that and He will bless your efforts. Most people do take some time in the process of accepting the Gospel and changing their lives. You are doing the right things. Take care. We love you and miss you very much.

Just having gone to the temple a couple of days ago, I can relate with your feelings of peace at returning to the Lord's House. It sounds like you have a good attitude despite having setbacks. A positive and optimistic attitude along with prayer and faith have helped me overcome difficulties in my life, and I'm sure it is the same for you on your mission, or in whatever situation. You are doing good work! We love you.

Elder Taylor,
I'm not sure any other experience you'll ever have in life will take you to such feelings of hope and promise and then to the dredges of disappointment so often---and all within just a few days. But I'm sensing that you're handling it all with faith and hope. For me that means that you are keeping your focus on what is an absolute; that your Father in Heaven loves you, appreciates your devotion and hard work. and is mindful of your every righteous desire.
I love you son. And I'm very, very proud of what you are doing.
Just keep doing it and the blessings you desire will come.
