hey mom,
sounds like you had a pretty scary time. i can definately see you doing that, making funny comments on the airplane.
it is definately true that if you want to make someone emotional, you just talk about their missionaries. had a few dinners and found out that you dont ask about families missionaries unless you want them to cry. i dont.
oh, man i really wish i could see you guys in utah. how about a break for the elders? but its ok. time goes by really fast.
you will just have to hang on to the church history book. we only can read our missionary library and i wouldnt have time to read another book anyway.
we go to the temple next week. im pretty stoked about it. i sometimes get random cravings to go there. especially after talking to people who act ugly towards us it is something i look forward to because of the peace. its kind of the same deal at district meetings and zone conferences.
the investigators are doing well. megan is acting about ready to be baptized she has read through the isaiah part of 2 nephi and hasnt given up which is impressive for a nonmember. she told us yesterday that she wants to go to church with us sunday and she is going to bring a friend of hers.
larry gomez is on fire as well with his reading, he reads about half a chapter a day which is a huge improvement and he also has started to act happy and excited to see us. we are going to give larry and megan dates the next time we see them.
we had an awesome restoration lesson with laregues wednesday which was so good it was funny. he said that he wants to read the whole BOM when we gave him a chapter to read. he also said at the conclusion of the lesson that he feels like God has a plan for all of us and he would like help learning what it is. i think he is just really in tune with the Spirit already. so we told him that we would love to teach him God's plan for us.
the phillidelphia's are doing better. they watched the joseph smith: prophet of the restoration movie and friday we are having another lesson with them.
we commited gil to set a goal for baptism. he said that he wants to set the goal so he will tell us the date that he wants to be baptized next time we see him. i also gave him a blessing for his health which was hopefully a good experience for him. he really wants to be baptized he just is struggling with his work situation which is hard.
all our other investigators are progressing really well. we seem to be retaining them well. the good thing about investigators in the OC is that when they agree to take the lessons it means that they are really interested. anyways i hope i get to stay here long enough to see the baptisms. its getting sooo close.
we had a cool experience yesterday. we were getting some m&m's to teach tithing to this 7 year old that we teach so that we can also teach his older brother's girlfriend. but we were there and this lady about lost it because she had been looking for missionaries to give her a blessing and she didnt know how to find us. (you could just look in the parking lots at night and we would find her.) but anyways she said she used to be a member and that she would like a blessing because of hard times she is going through. so we will do that soon. its always so cool to be the answer to prayers.
oh, but super bad news. we are getting moved from the Gardner's in two weeks. so thats a bummer.
love you mom. thanks for all that you do. give everyone a big hug for me.
Love your favorite missionary,
Elder Taylor Barron

Hi Elder, Sounds like you've had a really good week. Your Mom read us your email on her phone when we were down in Moab. Kind of nice to have email on your phone! I hope you get to see some baptisms too from the people you are teaching. But, if you don't, they will still always remember the impact you have had on their lives. I double dog guarantee it!
We are resting up after having your Mom here. We had a great time with her and are looking forward to the next time. She is the life of the party--as you know.
You'll have to fill us in on where you are now or rather if you've moved yet. My Mom, Grandma Bert, said she sent you a letter and some money. Hope you got it okay. She worries that you may not receive her mail.
The dedication of the new Draper Temple (near Salt Lake) is taking place this weekend. It's always exciting to have a new temple. Grandpa is teaching the young men who are preparing for the temple and missions. One just got his mission call. Grandpa really likes his calling. The Bishop has been attending his class also.
Well, Elder honey, it's late. Just wanted you to know I'm thinking about you and as always, praying for your continued good health and success and happiness. Take care and think of us a little bit?
Grandma Sue
Elder Barron,
We throughly enjoyed having your Mom here for the past week. She is always fun to be with. Arches is a beautiful place. If we get a chance after your mission it would be fun to go with you, Em, and your Mom and so something similar.
Sounds like your work is enjoying the blessings of heaven. We can't wait to hear the next installment.
Keep up the work.
Keep up the faith.
Keep up the prayers.
Love you.
PS: Your Grandmother and I just finished watching a video that features you as a baby up until about age 3. It was fun to watch. I think you'll enjoy seeing it when you get the chance.
