Hey Mom,

we have had a good week this week.

sounds like you have lots of things going on. i always pray that you will have the strength that you need to get through all the things that you have to do.

im glad that emily is doing well on the piano. i havent had much of a chance to play since i lived at the Garnder's. sometimes we get to district meeting early enough to where i can play a little bit but i get about 10 mins a week max. id like to go home and learn to play better.

about keeping up with people, ill prolly go visit the kraus's, the leung's, the gardner's of course, and the robinson's in foothill. lots of people wish that i had a facebook so that i could keep up with them later. i tell them that i will make one when i get home. so far here ill keep up with the ortiz's and the jeffcoat's.

yeah, i have take a hundred or so pics since the last ones that i sent you. i might not send them right away to you but maybe next week. kind of depends when we have a minute.

about what you said about a possible struggling elder: its deffinately a possibility. i might also be training next assignment or going district leader. i really have no idea. i am sure that i can handle whatever im given.as for the missionary work this week.

henry cannot be stopped. we thought we would teach him about tithing while he is on fire like he is and he just commited to it like it was no big deal. he is going to go with us to Church this week hopefully and i dont really see any other obstacles for him. we will have to wait till the 29th to baptize him. he keeps talking about how he has changed since he started meeting with us but with him he just decided to change himself and follows the Spirit. whatever obstacles he might be facing he isnt letting them slow him down at all.

chris er** commited to another baptismal date but he is kind of goofy. whenever he lets us in he is ready to hop in the font but he often chooses to not speak with us when we visit him so we only see him once a week or so. he is still unemployed so i dont read to far into it because he could well be too busy but he also didnt go to Church this week. so i dont know.

met with dan again this week. we might drop him tonight if he wont commit to change at all. his outlook is so harsh. it seems like he likes us and wants to just ask us questions that he doesnt want us to have answers for.

chris el**'s situation didnt change much this week. we read a chapter from the Book of Mormon with him about every day. he is a good hearted man, he just needs to finish overcoming his challenges.

we are working with about 5 or so newer investigators right now who look pretty exciting. tommorow we have 6 lessons lined up so we are excited about that. it looks like people will finally start to get on a steady schedule now that summer is over.

good things are happening, we have been using ideas from Preach My Gospel to find through the members and it has been working out way better than i thought it would. we have members working with about 4 families that we could potentially be teaching. i would say that the lesson in that is that tracting is not the only finding method.

this week i have no time to answer other people. tell everyone that im sorry.

i got your package if i didn't tell you last week. we already ate all the candy. Elder Gibbons and i ate the starburst in like 2 days. the rest never stood a chance.
(regarding the picture- 'the family in front of the one palm tree is the hiltbrands who had us for dinner alot. their daughter is straight up crazy. she always tried to trick us with riddles and stuff.')

hope you are having a good week.

Love your favorite missionary,

Elder Taylor Barron

You continue to sound great, Elder! I always thought summers were harder because of scheduling. I think it was the only time in my life where I didn't love summer best! We love you!

Hey Elder Sweety :-), Wow, these weeks are flying by aren't they? I have traveled over 16,000 miles the last little while and the trips also went quickly. They always seem like time warps to me. I had a great time in North Carolina but I am glad to be home. Still kind of tired though.

Thinking back a year ago when you came to Utah to visit. You have matured so much! You just had all that stuff inside of you just raging to get out didn't you! I've been amazed at how fast you "grew" into missionary work--like it was just always there. You are a special young man and this grandma loves you deeply!

Glad to see that you still have many people to teach. It's surprising how many people that are out there looking for something. Great that you are finding them. We pray for your success.

Don't worry if you don't have time to send little notes to us. We certainly understand and that's perfectly okay. Take care and I'll look forward to tomorrow's post.

Love ya tons, Grandma Sue

It has been a crazy couple of weeks for your Grandma and I. We've covered a lot of miles and enjoyed a wide variety of activities and places. While Sue went to North Carolina I headed west to Hawaii. I always enjoy being there. The environment and the scenery is wonderful, but so are the people and I always enjoy being with them. They are very special friends.
At the end of the day, however, there is as Dorothy said in the Wizard of Oz "no place like home."
We've been gone enough lately that "home" needs a lot of attention and I hope to focus on taking care of it now.
I enjoyed a good long visit with a man from California on the flight to Hawaii. At the end he wanted my business card and said he would be getting in touch with me. His wife said that they had visited the Temple in Laie on an earlier trip to Hawaii and they really enjoyed it there. We'll see what comes of it, but I'm trying to do my part as a missionary whenever I get a chance.
I'm teaching Temple Prep now in Sunday School. The class right now is just two boys---one of which has his call to Riverton, California and leaves in September. The other is just finishing up getting all of his paper work done.
I know you haven't got all day to read long notes, but wanted you to know we are very proud of the great missionary you've quickly become and hope Henry follows through with his committment to be baptized and that the others you are and will teach will feel the Spirit and make that committment as well. You are certainly doing your part.
Keep up the great work and know we love you.
Grandpa Ron
