Hey Mom,
yeah, its kinda weird to think about that i will be in a new area in a month. im kinda excited but i'll miss the people here. there was a lot of dissapointment for me in my investigators. it seems like some of them really should have taken the steps neccesary for baptism but just wont. and i know there is nothing i could do about it but it still hurts sometimes. i feel like i have done everything i knew how to do at any given time and that as i have learned to do more or been suggested anything i have implemented it. so in a way i am ready for a new place but i sure will miss the friends that i have made here. especially the Gardners and other people here. (plus E Haupt is a stud and i have learned all kinds of things from him so ill miss an awesome comp if i go.)
we got to have dinner at the Gardner's last night and we had a really good time there. we had easter dinner at a family named the Leung's. Bro Leung has gone with us to a lot of lessons and they are one of the families that i have gotten close too. they have two young boys that treat us like older brothers whenever we go there so i really enjoyed my Easter. did not decorate eggs but i did take the food coloring and put it in my oatmeal that morning. Kind of the same thing?
Not a lot of things going on. megan, larry gomez, and pretty much all others that we go by are pretty much in the same place as ever. not willing to go forward with faith and read and pray about the Book of Mormon. it seems like we spend all our time either tracting, asking people that used to be excited for appointments, or going to new appointments and finding nobody home. there is just no substitute for a member oriented mission program. we can only do so much. once the people are done with us they are done. oh, with one exception and i dont know if i have told you about jess? he is a former investigator that doesnt live in our mission who meets with us during his lunch break at work. we are helping him to quit smoking and he wants to be baptized as soon as he can quit. so thats exciting. we see him every day that we can.
Exciting about starting school! good luck. by the way i got your easter package which was awesome. what else could i have wanted? g's, motab, shirt, awesome scorpion! (i cant decide if i want to eat it to say that i did or keep it to look at), and of course i loved that album of pictures. you and Em sure are lookin good. those pics of moab are cool too. got adams family letter, did not get grandparents card yet. have a good week.
Love your favorite missionary,
Elder Taylor Barron

It's been a crazy week for us as we have been traveling and just got home late last night. We went to Phoenix to see Grandma Bert and Grandpa Bill for a few days. Dani, Kirk and kids went also. We drove down together and had a great time but now we are all tired!
My parents are showing their age. They are both very fragile, especially my Dad. They have a hard time keeping up with everything they need to do in their house, etc. I try to do as much as I can each visit, but my visits are too far apart. Would love for them to live closer, but it looks like that will not happen. They think the world of you, Taylor. They are so proud of you. If you get a chance, and I know you are very busy, please write them a letter. They would love it.
Grandpa Ron will be going to the Dominican Republic tomorrow. He will be reporting on the work the church's humanitarian services are doing their along with the Navy ship the USNS Comfort--which is a hospital ship. It is docked off the coast of the Dominican Republic right now. Grandpa will spend a few nights aboard taking pictures and video and interviewing members of the church who are doctors and nurses donating their time to help those people. He will also do some stories in Santa Domingo, DR. Should be interesting. He will come hom late Sunday evening.
We love reading your emails each week. I hope you received the card and stuff we sent. I did not get it off as early as I had hoped but maybe you have it by now. We know you are doing your very best and you will have success in your mission. Your attitude is great and you will be blessed. We love you so much, Elder Barron! Take care of yourself and we will be in touch again soon! :-) Love, Grandma Sue
