56 and another JW week :)

Hey Mom,

thanks for the email. forgot to tell you that Jericho's Warriors is harder to get because we are alot more strict on counting lessons and new investigators. to count a lesson it basically has to be a traditional sit down lesson with opening and closing prayers, teaching and leaving commitments. before sometimes you might count a lesson if you talked to an investigator at the doorstep for awhile or something. and other small things. im glad to hear that you made it through this week.

i have been praying for your school and your talk to go well.

i will definitely still be with Elder Roddy until mid january and then one of us will probably leave. your new missionaries sound just like us. i betcha they start to tear it up.

next week make sure to tell me what time to call you. i need to know what time to set everything up with members and everything. (you might want to give me CA time)

look forward to getting the package, Mom. thanks for getting it out. thanks for sending Elder Roddy some stuff. i dont know that his dad will send quite the Christmas that im sure that i'll get.

another great week. Jericho's Warriors again. lee is still looking good for the Dec 26th date. he just needs that cast off so we dont know for sure. we have been having him teach us the missionary lessons this week. he is a really good teacher and he has a strong testimony.

Leonard made it to Church again this week with his two girls. it is really starting to have an effect on his family. his wife sat in on one of our lessons and said that she would meet with spanish missionaries because she isnt as comfortable in english. leonard commited to have family home evening with his family. he is progressing well towards his baptism date. he is the most humble guy. he started reading the Book of Mormon every day too. i think that we just might be able to get the family pulled in. he said that his wife bought a dress to go to Church. we might get his daughter who is 9 baptized sooner than later.

hunter didnt make it to Church this week. i dont know what to do with them. we are going to have to be pretty frank with them tonight which i do not enjoy.

fran is doing awesome. she and her friend mike were at Church this week. i felt that we should teach the 10 commandments and chastity rather than a more obvious lesson at one of our appointments. it came out that mike and fran are planning to get married soon so we will get to keep mike. we might be able to baptize them on the same day the way that mike is going. her quit day for smoking is tommorow. she is commited to it. she has such strong faith. she will do whatever she has to do to have her life in harmony with the commandments and prepare to be baptized. get a new job, quit smoking, attend the right ward away from her daughter, meet lots of new people. she is awesome.

we set a baptismal date with lynne for jan 30(did i tell you that last week?) we have had awesome lessons. we told her to read 1 Ne 1 before one lesson and she thought that we meant the book of 1 Nephi. she got through 13 chapters. she came out of that with a testimony of the Book of Mormon. it is funny how she gained a testimony because she misunderstood the commitment. the Lord works in mysterious ways. she needs to quit smoking but im sure that she will. she was at Church again this week.

we have had awesome lessons with the Browns. we are going to try to set a baptismal date with sis Brown on thurs. we are working with some other people but ill write about them when things get exciting.

love you, thanks for all your support.

Love your favorite missionary,

Elder Taylor Barron

Merry Christmas, Elder Barron! I'll bet this is a Christmas you will always remember! We had our annual family Christmas get together yesterday. There were 27 people here which included Grandpa Stan and Charlotte. You were the only one missing from our family. We did the usual big dinner, talent show, carol singing and gift sharing. When we were singing carols, I leaned in closely to hear Braden and Jacob singing--so cute! Little boy voices struggling to sing the high notes! It just doesn't seem that long ago that you were one of those little boys :-).

Now here you are a busy Elder loving and teaching and serving the Lord! We are so happy that you are doing what you are doing. I know you'll be talking to your mom in a few days. I know she's excited and can't wait for the opportunity. I imagine that by then you will have received your Christmas cheer in the mail :-).

Well, Elder Sweetie, I better go get dressed for the day. I've been a little lazy this morning after such a big day yesterday. I don't have quite as much energy for those things that I used to. But I still love it.

Take care of yourself. Have a joyous Christmas. I know our Heavenly Father is watching over you. I love you and pray for you every day. Bye for now.
