Hey Mom,
Before i start, yes i got all those packages and i am sorry that i have not told you and tell everybody thanks. E Murley also said thank you.
(i asked tay if he could leave comments back for you in his letters to me- his reply):
im glad that your email got fixed. it should be ok to comment. just a disclaimer tho i might not always have time to comment every week and probably not to everybody. tell the fam that i would do better with letters prolly because i would have more time. but ill start commenting. it should be easy enough if you keep your stuff in bold and the other things regular.
that is awesome that you met swadhi. sis feist probably told you but she had a good experience with her son getting a blessing and she once said to sis feist that she believes in one God which is not what most hindu people believe in. btw yes i know how to get word around and relief society is it.
That boy's life magazine thing is pretty funny. a little corny and not quite what i thought it would be but its still cool that i was in it. i definately laughed when i saw it.
about the missionaries. comp switches happen quite often. and i have never heard of a vegetarian missionary.
thats cool about your friend that is from rsm. what ward is your friend? rsm is in my district. i would know the elders or sisters there. by the way the town we live in is called trabuco canyon but most people call it portola or lake forest (kind of like how someone from highland village might say flower mound or lewisville.)
i was just talking to sis gardner this morning about how perfect the area was for me. E murley is getting the toughest assignment possible tonight. he will be transferred into a new area (which means the missionaries before were so bad that they want a fresh start or that something happened) and he will be training again there. thats all we know now. there is a possibility that he will be still in our district because one of the areas is getting whitewashed (as they call it) and that doesnt happen often. one elder there is going home honorably after 2 years and another dishonorably (long confidential story).
i can tell how upset you were. (re how i didn't send him an email last week) dont sweat it. no grudges here mom. just a little worried about you but i thought emily would have mentioned it if something were wrong so not really anyway.
i am so happy that you are having missionary experiences too! keep being a good teacher and friend to that girl. the missionaries love you im sure. if somebody would hug and take interest like that in our investigators we would have it made.
most of last week was pretty sad. 4 elders from the mission got sent home which is never fun to hear about and most of our investigators decided that they were going to take the week off. but every day we were provided for by the Lord at usually 8:30or so opportunities to teach our 2 lessons every day. happened like 4 days that we thought we would miss our standards and something cool would happen like picking up investigators for other missionary areas or find one of our investigators home that normally wouldnt be.
had a good lesson with bro gomez this week on prayer though. gil's wife, ruth, wants to be at the next lesson we teach so that is good. also gil is recieving answers to his prayers and knows the BOM is true. so this week we are giving him a baptismal date. nadre the crazy guy had a spiritual experience so we might have a better lesson this week. did not see the philadelphia's for a sit down lesson this week but when we stopped by once terri had read alma 32 and was excited about it which is good because we thought she might be holding ken back. megan is on vacation still until saturday.
we finally got the priests on a schedule to come with us. we took a boy named ryan robinson with us on sunday and that was really fun. he got to see gil tell us that he was feeling the holy ghost as he prayed about the BOM which was so neat that ryan could be there. gave herb a BOM and will see if he has read the intro tommorow. (sorry this is not in any discernable order we dont have much time and i am trying to pack in the whole week as fast as i can.) yesterday we taught the restoration lesson to a 7 year old named Cade in the ward which was cool and his older brothers girlfriend named natalie was there and she wants to read what we gave Cade so that was cool.
no time for comments. sorry. this week is rushed because of transfers. tell emily to email me this week and next week ill get her one because we have no time.
Love your favorite missionary,
Elder Taylor Barron

I love hearing about your mission. I love how pure your heart is and how strong you are becoming. How exciting for you that you are helping others on the pathway to knowing the Savior and obtaining salvation.
Your being on a mission blesses all of us as we read about your experiences and ponder how we are living our own lives. It's so important for us to always be anxiously engaged.
When I think about the Savior and His love for us, I think the missionaries truly have a special place in His heart.
Thank you again for sharing with us your devotion and your love for the Lord's children that you are teaching. We pray for your continued success. We love you!

Hey Elder! As it turns out, I'm not the best at actually writing a letter. So, I hope that you are okay with these comments as my form of communication with you. That being said, we think about you often around here, and we talk about all that you are doing and we are all so proud!! My kids LOVE to hear all about what you are doing, and you are always in all of our prayers. I'm so glad that you and your mom are willing to share these letters with all of us. It lifts my spirits every time that I sit to read them.
A quick update on us... we are all doing well. We have been fighting some colds and I had strep too, but we all seem to finally be getting over it all.
We are going to St. George tonight for a couple of days for a little R and R. Kirk is doing his first of the season 100 miler bike ride on Saturday while we are there. He's looking forward to that! I'm looking forward to the warmer temps that they have down there too!
I just had Parent Teacher Conference for Braden, Kimmy and Marissa last night. They are all doing great and their teachers all had great things to say. They really are good kids, and even though it's still only Elem. school, I'm proud of how hard they work.
I got a new calling on Sunday. I'll be teaching Sunday School to the 17 and 18 year olds. Same calling as your mom!! I'm looking forward to it. I didn't get released from being a Ward Missionary though, they want me to continue to support Kirk in that calling as well. Fine by me!
You sound so great. It's obvious that you have a great attitude and that you are really giving it your all. That's all that anyone can ask of you!! Enjoy your successes and hang in there when things are hard!! Good luck with your new companion!
Love you! Auntie Dani
It is hard to type with one hand, but I wanted to say how much I feel when I read your beautiful letters. Sounds like so much is happening! I feel so blessed to know you, and to feel your spirit. May the Lord continue to bless you with success!
Sounds like you are doing really well. We enjoy reading about your experiences. You'll have to tell us about your new companion too. We love you and continue to pray for you.
